Understanding Matcha Green Tea

Matcha green tea is known to exceed any other drink in terms of nutritional value. Compared to regular green tea that contains nothing but brewed water, Matcha green tea makes you ingest the whole leaf, making its nutritional content sum up to ten times more than the regular green tea drink. Also, it means that all the benefits you get from drinking green tea such as catechins and anti-oxidants that destroy free radicals are amplified ten times more with every cup of Matcha green tea you drink.

In fact, it even has a higher anti oxidant content compared to Blueberries and Spinach combined. Anti-oxidants are very important to the body. These substances are found in small quantities in the food one eats. They are said to be most abundant in fruits and vegetables which makes them the best regular food sources for anti oxidants. There are in fact tests that seek to determine the level of anti-oxidants found in various types of food such as the ORAC test (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity). This test done in Tufts University showed that Matcha green tea surpasses all other foods that are known to be a rich source of anti-oxidants by exponential levels. This makes it great for your body as the body no longer needs to process it off from the food through digestion. The concentration allows for easy absorption in the blood stream allowing you to get more out of the food you eat.

Roughly estimated the ORAC test rated Matcha green tea as a food substance that contains 1300 units per gram of anti-oxidants; compared to a 91 units per gram for wild blueberries; and also a 105 units per gram for pomegranates. This assures you to reap the benefits of anti-oxidants more effectively compared to any other food source. Lose weight and look younger with every cup.
